It’s pretty clear how a Chanukkia should look like: eight candles on the same level with equal space in between and the shamash. To spread the miracle, it should then be placed at the window or the door. And yet still there are countless possible variations for the looks of a Chanukkia. There are no limits to creativity. The play “Klasse Klasse” shown at the Strahl theatre at Ostkreuz enabled the ninth grade on 12.12.2018 to see the school from another perspective: If they recognised those archetypes – the nerd, the star, the class clown or the diva – somewhere? In a dynamic collage the conflicts of a school class were caricatured – with music, humour, […]

On 27. Kislev, Rav BarOn turned 70 years of age. For his great day, the whole school, guests of the KAJ and Rav Savage gathered in the assembly hall to celebrate. All students contributed in their own moving and warm-hearted ways to the ceremony: The little ones sang and the older ones wrote and read out their very […]

The preparation and execution of a cycling examination is part of the general studies program of every fourth grade. It’s the goal for every student to get the cycling license. Right at the beginning of the school year, the fourth grade started to prepare for the cycling examination. They learned about right of way, and safety rules for […]

Lab Day

Lab Day

Chemistry is no magic, even if it seems like it sometimes. Grades seven, eight and nine were close to the action – but not too close. Of course, rubber gloves were mandatory. What sorts of things can happen when mixing together two seemingly harmless liquids! Suddenly there is seething and bubbling and the two liquids become a foam […]

Ready, set and off we go! The Lauder Beth-Zion School’s class outing (“Wandertag”) on 27 September was good fun for all classes. Split in five groups, the students and teachers went out for a day of experiential learning — rather than traditional, classroom-based learning. Second Grade The second grade hiked in the forest near Birkenwerder with Mora Lilija […]
